Lightning Strike

Clouds cover the sky in a purplish grey, rolling like hills in the sky.  Electricity softly crackling in the air, fills up the void with invisible power.  The sky darkens and a flash spreads across the sky, illuminating silhouettes of anvils above.  Followed by a crash of thunder, and then a still silence.  Darkness floods through the light and covers the earth.  You hold your breath, waiting for the next flash of glowing light to crack across the sky, as the smell of rain makes it's way to your nose.
