Dancing Flames

You can feel the heat on the tips of your fingers as they hover over the flame, a thin line of smoke curling up a few inches and then dissipating into the air. The flame extends from a wick, the chemical reaction turning fiber into ash. The flame waves and flickers slowly and then speeds up, as if the tempo of the song changed. The colors of the flame span from white to yellow to orange and red in the center. Swirling together, you can almost see a flash of pink at the base. A quick concentrated breath of air is directed toward the flame, and it's out as quickly as it was lit.

Padparadscha Sapphire Necklace

Oval cut lab created Padparadscha ("pad-per-add-sha") sapphire set in a sterling silver pendant with a sterling silver chain.  This pink/orange stone is named for the national flower of Sri Lanka, Padmaraga, which means lotus flower.

Lab created stones have the same composition and are identical to natural sapphires in every way.
