After the Rain

The air smelled of water and dirt mixing together to create that "after the rain" smell. The humidity hung in the air as though molecules of color were coming together.  The sun split the molecules into seven colors. Distinctly each color separated in the sky with sharp lines. And then the colors faded from the sky like glitter settling in a snow globe - slowly and gradually in front of the naked eye.
