Cavern Stalactite

You're exploring a cavern in the mountains.  You take your flashlight and enter the mouth of the cave.  It's dark and the air feels musty.  The pathway slants downward and you feel as though you are descending into the center of the earth with each step you take on the white limestone ground. Man made railings keep you from slipping down into the depths of the cavern. Above you are large rocks that hang like icicles from the ceiling.  Irregularly shaped spears, the stactites grow until they touch the cavern floor. They feel as if they are growing right before your eyes.
