River Rocks

Smoothed by water, sand, and time, they cover the riverbed like a rainbow of pearls. Looking out onto the river from the shore, the bright sun shines down and turns waves into glitter on along the far shore.  Sand, grass, and silt mix with cool water in eddies and bends.  Reds, pinks, blues, purples, greens, greys, and clear, banded and layered, made from layers of earth built up and pressed over time until they turned to shale and sandstone. Broken by tectonic plates, moved by glaciers, carried by erosion, and shaped by the river they found their rest in.
