The heat of the early morning in July meant that it was going to be a hot day. Looking up, there were no clouds in the turquoise blue sky. It was a perfect day to sit by the pool. The smell of the chlorine and cement mixed in the air and filled our noses. Orange-red Mountain Ash berries that had fallen from the tree floated along the surface of the water, making their way to the filter. We jumped into the pool, our splashes sending a spray of water onto the cement and pool chairs. The pads of our fingers were raw from grabbing onto the side of the pool. On a cloudless day, the blue of the sky goes on and on.
